Essentially it marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. While you may not feel called, to follow all traditions, there are ways of incorporating old customs from this time.

Spring clean.

Take the opportunity to look at your space and home to remove any clutter and spring clean. Open your windows and doors allowing fresh air to permeate your rooms, you may want to include smoke cleansing,  using sage, bay, or even incense.

Self-cleanse.

The ritual of conscious self-cleansing, may feel like something that you may like to do. Think pampering yourself, exfoliate, cleanse, and moisturise. Traditionally Oats were offered with thanks at some wells with blessings. You may feel called to add these or herbs, salts, or petals to your bathing routine at this time.

Visit the wells.

Why not find the wells near you and visit them, you could leave a offering of oats, nuts or dried fruit, nearby. You may find the tying of white or yellow threads or ribbons, near the well. This also may be on a tree, and known as a cootie well, or cootie tree. Tied for health and well wishes, or for a blessing.

Get out More.

Imbolc was a time of activity, in the farming calendar. With the return of the light and brighter days, you may want to get out into the warmth of the returning sun. It is a time of welcoming new growth and seeing the first glimpse of spring with the buds and snowdrops emerging.

This is a perfect time to plant the seeds of your intentions that you want to manifest. Think about

What do I want to focus on this year?

Where is my energy pulling me?

What first steps towards my goal do I need to take?

You might want to make a vision board, with all of the things that come up, put any words or inspirations on there. Put pictures or drawings of what you want to call in and bring into being, set achievable timelines for your goals or projects.
